The Year of Faith

This year, October 11th commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council and also the Year of Faith as promulgated by Pope Benedict XVI. Our Holy Father wants us to rediscover the journey of faith so as to shed ever clearer light on the joy and enthusiasm of the encounter with Christ. He wants the Year of Faith to arouse in every believer the aspiration to profess the faith in fullness and with renewed conviction, with confidence and hope. Far too often we can forget why we believe what we do and why we attend Mass; it simply becomes habitual.

The Year of Faith is our theme for Wednesday Night Discipleship, our weekly gathering for high school youth looking to go deeper in their own faith. We began our journey several weeks ago, so we'll be playing "catch up" on this blog now, but will then have a weekly post about what we did and learned at WND. Join us on our journey to rediscover the joy of our faith and our own renewed convictions!
